The dining area was not well defined. It also protruded into the path to other room. none of the colors matched, the artwork was mismatched, and the table drab and unappealing. The shelf was overflowing with clutter and seemed out of place near the formal living room. |
After:
I moved another table and chair set from another room and placed the area rug directly beneath it to unify the space as the dining area. I coordinated a more cohesive color scheme which warmed up the room. I found two similar pieces of art and mounted the rack for small items on the wall. |

| Before:
The furniture being used in this room overwhelmed it. There was no focal point and the colors were drab and uninviting. The window treatment was outdated and cluttered. The fire- place and shelving were cluttered with knick-knacks. The coffee table did not match the room style. |
After:
I removed the oversized chair and ottoman. I removed the clutter, lowered the artwork and added colored accessories to make the room cozy. I centered the area rug between the sofa and two matching wicker chairs and used a borrowed coffee table to unify the seating area. I made the fireplace the focal point for a framed pen and ink drawing. |
